About weapons, drugs & alcohol signs
Workplace-rule signs say what isn't allowed on the premises: firearms and weapons, knives, drugs, alcohol, cannabis and smoking. Most use the red circle and slash — the international prohibition symbol — over the item; switch the symbol style to a green circle for something that is allowed, or show the symbol on its own. Many states set exact wording, size and placement for no-firearms postings (concealed-carry laws often require them at each entrance to be enforceable), so check your state's statute before relying on one of these as a legal notice. A drug-free workplace policy also needs a written policy and, for federal contractors, the Drug-Free Workplace Act's notice and awareness program — the sign is the reminder, not the program.
