About accident prevention tags
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.145(f) covers accident prevention tags: temporary warnings hung on equipment or at a hazard until it's fixed — DANGER DO NOT OPERATE, OUT OF SERVICE, DO NOT START. A tag needs a signal word and a major message, and the signal word must be readable from at least five feet; danger tags are predominantly red, caution tags yellow, biological hazard tags fluorescent orange-red. Lockout tags (1910.147) must also show who applied them, so the builder adds write-in lines — NAME, DEPT, DATE — to fill in by hand. Print on card stock or tag stock and punch the hole.
